The Whitefish Bay Village Board on March 3 approved a resolution making procedural edits to the village's claims processing policy.
Staff said the proposed redline made no substantive changes but removed items that do not apply to members of the public filing claims and corrected how the board's agenda language labels a check register. "We're not proposing any substantial or notable changes; there's just some cleaning up basically that we're proposing in the redline draft," the village manager said, adding that the policy will now stop describing the check register as a monthly claims report.
The update also clarifies how claims filed by an employee or a member of the village board must be handled, including requirements for written notification to the board or consideration in closed session. Trustees said the changes were intended to improve clarity and administrative routine.
Trustees moved to approve Resolution No. 3174; the motion was seconded and adopted by voice vote with all present voting in favor.
The amendment will be incorporated into village policy documents and the board did not identify any additional substantive policy changes at this time.
