Board enters executive session to discuss negotiations with Sheridan Education Association

The Sheridan School District No. 2 Board of Education moved into executive session on Jan. 27 to discuss collective bargaining strategy related to the expired Master Agreement with the Sheridan Education Association.

Director Stange made the motion to enter executive session; Director Camacho seconded. The board cited C.R.S. 24-6-402(4)(e)(I) (determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations), (4)(e)(III) (developing strategy for negotiations) and (4)(b) (to receive legal advice) as the authority for the closed session. The minutes record the vote as "all ayes." Present at the meeting were President Karla Najera and Directors Camacho and Stange; Director Daigle was absent. The board invited Superintendent Gionni Thompson, Adele Reester and Acting Secretary Polly Plancarte to attend the executive session.

The minutes state the board entered executive session at 7:43 p.m. and remained until 8:24 p.m. The board reconvened its regular meeting and subsequently adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
