Council approves routine agenda items including liquor-license recommendations, appointment and Fremont Days fee waiver

At its June 9 meeting the Fremont City Council approved several routine items and recommendations:
- The council consented to the mayor’s appointment of Ashley Fowler Fowler to the Local Option Review Team for a term ending June 2027 (approved 8–0).
- Resolution 2026-135: The council recommended a class K secondary liquor-license endorsement for Lakeshore Marina at 1440 West Military Avenue; the recommendation increases the number of special designated licenses and waives the associated fee for special designated licenses. The council approved the recommendation 8–0.
- Resolution 2026-136: The council recommended approval of a change of location for a class one liquor license for Savage Restaurant Group LLC (doing business as Side Peas Sushi) to 343 North Main Street; council approved 8–0.
- Resolution 2026-138: The council authorized the John C. Fremont Days special-event application, street closures and the staff-recommended fee waiver (the city clerk said the parks board could not consider the weekend waiver); the council approved the resolution including an additional fee waiver 8–0. Parks staff said the new park should be usable for the July 9–12 event though a few small areas may be sodded or tented to protect turf.
These items were approved either on the consent agenda or by unanimous votes during the meeting.
