Whitefish Bay — The Village Board voted to grant a one-time exception to the hours listed in Argo’s conditional-use permit to allow the Argo entertainment venue and bar to operate until 1:00 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2026 for a New Year’s Eve event.
Trustees discussed complaints from opening events and the venue’s corrective actions. Staff reported two related noise complaints after opening night and said one complainant also reported an alley disturbance that apparently was not reported to police. Village staff and the operator took steps including soundboard adjustments, closing an internal soundproof door that had been left open and directing staff to take breaks at a different exit. Police decibel checks were reported as below concerning thresholds for the events police observed.
Several trustees favored allowing the later hour for this single event to support downtown activity while noting that the village could revisit permitted hours if complaints increase. Trustee Jacob moved the one-time exception; the motion passed by voice vote.
