Brighton Central School District recognizes dozens of staff receiving tenure

The Brighton Central School District Board of Education used its June 9 meeting to formally recognize a large cohort of staff who earned tenure or milestone service anniversaries.
The board read biographical summaries and achievements for each recipient. Notable recognitions included Colleen Coggins, named principal of French Road Elementary School; Dr. Danielle Edmonds, named principal of 12 Corners Middle School; Caitlyn Feny, director of special education and mental health services; Theresa Moer, director of safety and security; and a range of classroom teachers, school counselors, special‑education teachers and teaching assistants across the district.
Presenters emphasized recipients’ contributions to instructional leadership, student support, equity and school culture. The board asked families in the audience to stand and applauded the honorees. Administration said tenure in the district is earned through a process meant to recognize sustained excellence and to support continued leadership in classrooms and schools.
The recognition segment concluded with thanks to all honorees; no board action beyond the earlier motion to approve the tenure slate was required during the ceremony.
