The Whitefish Bay Village Board approved a sidewalk and seasonal sun shade at Cahill Square Park.
Staff said the new sidewalk (on the west side of the tennis courts) would connect the recently rebuilt playground to the warming house and improve ADA accessibility. The board also approved installing a seasonal sun shade over the concrete pad adjacent to picnic tables to improve comfort for parents and visitors.
Design details — including material, color and exact anchoring — will be finalized by staff and the village engineer. Trustees indicated they prefer completing the work this fall while contractor unit costs are favorable.
The motion to approve passed by voice vote.
