Trustees weigh Main Street parking signs and code-enforcement options, seek community input

Board members discussed short-term and longer-term approaches. Mark Basham and others said more input from local business owners is needed before implementing additional measures. Mac urged that any signs meet Colorado Department of Transportation standards for quality and installation rather than using cones. Trustee Mickey Frey noted that Georgetown contracts with SafeBuilt for code enforcement as a model the town could explore.
Several trustees emphasized they want to avoid establishing a police presence while increasing enforcement. The board directed the clerk to order the signage, said they will speak with downtown business owners for ideas, and agreed to revisit parking in mid-January.
