The Boca Raton City Council adopted several agenda items with minimal debate at its June 9 meeting.
- Ordinance 57-87: The council authorized a nonexclusive construction and demolition debris collection and disposal franchise agreement with Classic Recycling Inc.; staff said the applicant met minimum requirements and that this would be the city’s 13th C&D franchise. The motion passed 5-0.
- Ordinance 57-88 and Ordinance 57-89: Code corrections were adopted to provide an actuarial-equivalent definition for pension plans and to clarify the executive employee pension plan’s average-final-compensation calculation (changing from 130 pay periods to five years); staff said actuary statements show no financial impact. Both measures were approved 5-0.
- Board appointments and consent agenda: Council appointed members to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, Executive Employees' Retirement Plan and Historic Preservation and Parks and Recreation boards; the consent agenda was approved by roll call (5-0).
These items were routine in process but significant administratively; the council voted unanimously on all listed measures.
