The Yankton County Planning Commission approved multiple plats and routine business in a short meeting.
Commissioners approved a plat that splits a roughly 17-acre tract to create a five-acre parcel to be sold to a grain company for storage under an agricultural-business exception; staff noted a deed restriction will prohibit dwellings on that newly created ag business parcel. The commission also approved a small conveyance allowing a landowner to buy a sliver from a neighbor to expand a driveway entrance, saying the change would improve safe access.
Other approvals included combining two existing lots into a single parcel to permit an accessory structure and a courtesy approval of a plat located in the county’s extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) that the city had already approved. Staff said the ETJ action was primarily a formality.
The meeting opened with roll call and approval of minutes and the agenda, and closed with no public comment and a motion to adjourn. All motions on the agenda were carried by voice or roll-call votes as recorded on the transcript.
Votes at a glance - Approval of prior meeting minutes: moved and seconded; approved by voice vote. - Agenda approval: moved and seconded; approved by voice vote. - Plat (ag-business five-acre split): motion carried by voice vote. - Plat (small parcel to expand entrance): motion carried by voice vote. - Plat (combine two lots to allow accessory structure): motion carried by voice vote. - ETJ plat: courtesy approval; motion carried.
The commission concluded the meeting and adjourned shortly after the plats and the conditional use item were handled.
