PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — After returning from closed executive session at 8:20 p.m., the Pflugerville ISD Board of Trustees publicly commended Superintendent Dr. Quentin Shepherd and previewed next steps on his annual evaluation.
The board had met in a closed session to conduct the superintendent’s formative evaluation, citing the appropriate governance statute. In open session the board president thanked Dr. Shepherd "for your vision, your presence within our community, your communication and transparency, as well as your curiosity and excitement for the future of our students," and said trustees look forward to continuing to work with district leadership.
Trustee Daniel (who led discussion of the evaluation instrument) outlined the committee timeline: Dr. Shepherd will set goals aligned with the district strategic plan and the board will review evaluation instruments at upcoming meetings. The trustee said the committee is also "discussing potentially using AI to compile our evaluations" for the summative documentation and asked trustees to suggest effective AI tools for summarizing multisource feedback.
No personnel actions were announced in open session. The board said it will return to the superintendent evaluation item on the September agenda to consider instrumentation and timelines for goal setting.
