Chair Sarter called the Marley Park Community Facilities District Commission to order on June 2, 2026, and the board approved two financial items after brief presentations and no public comment.
Miss Simmons, the presenter for the district, said the secondary property tax rate would remain unchanged at 2.7294 and that the proposed levy at that rate is $2,170,600. She told the board that notices required under Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 42, and Schedule A for the tentative budget were posted on the district website and in the Surprise Independent and Phoenix Independent on May 13 and May 20.
Councilman Judd asked whether the rate was unchanged from prior years and whether the levy revenue would be collected only from Marley Park residents and businesses. Miss Simmons confirmed the 2.7294 rate has been unchanged for several years and that the revenue would come only from residents and businesses within the Marley Park community.
After discussion, Councilman Judd moved to approve Resolution MPCFD 2026-03, expressing the board’s intent to levy the secondary property tax at the stated rate; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
The board then considered the district’s fiscal year 2027 budget. Miss Simmons presented totals showing $2,300,000 in projected sources and matching expenditures of $2,300,000, with property-tax collections identified as the funding source. The public hearing on the budget drew no speakers. The board approved Resolution MPCFD 2026-02 adopting the FY2027 Marley Park CFD budget and expenditure limitation by voice vote.
The meeting closed with a call to the public (no requests to speak) and an adjournment motion that was approved by voice vote. The minutes of the May 5, 2026 meeting were also approved earlier in the consent agenda.
