Adair County board approves $303,571.74 in claims, fireworks permit, liquor license actions and a Treasurer office hire

The board also approved a fireworks permit application for the Adair County Fair submitted by Brandon Vonk for July 12, 2026. Separately, the board approved an ownership change and renewal of a liquor license for Wallace Centers of Iowa.
On personnel, the board approved the hire of Dee Ann Bradley as a Motor Vehicle Clerk in the Treasurer’s office, at a starting wage equal to 65% of the Treasurer’s wage, effective June 15, 2026. Meeting minutes note that “all motions were approved unanimously unless noted otherwise.”
Motions were moved and seconded on the record: the agenda was approved (moved by Baier, seconded by Hoadley); claims approval was moved by Wedemeyer and seconded by Baier; the fireworks permit was moved by Wedemeyer and seconded by Hoadley; the Wallace Centers liquor license actions were moved by Baier (ownership change seconded by Wedemeyer; renewal seconded by Hoadley); and the Treasurer office hire was moved by Wedemeyer and seconded by Baier.
