The Adair County Board of Supervisors approved a public hearing and then adopted a FY26 budget amendment (Resolution #2026-34) and an appropriations resolution (Resolution #2026-35) at its May 20, 2026 meeting. Auditor Mandy Berg presented the published amendments during an open hearing; no public comments were received before the board closed the hearing and voted.
The board adopted increases in departmental appropriations as follows: Sheriff (05) increased by $29,650 for a new total of $2,620,870; Veterans’ Affairs (21) increased by $13,477 to $94,773; REAP (0023-22) increased by $10,000 to $10,000; Conservation Land Acquisition (0027-22) increased by $5,000 to $56,500; Medical Examiner (28) increased by $15,000 to $50,000; and Non-Departmental (99) increased by $450 to $5,250,051. The resolutions were approved by roll call: Walker, Baier, Christoffersen, Hoadley and Wedemeyer — all aye.
Separately, the board earlier approved Resolution #2026-33 to transfer $90,672.01 from the NW Wind Farm UR Debt Service Fund (0032) to the General Fund (0001) to cover TIF project expenditures certified as debt in November 2024; that motion also passed by roll call.
