Trustees were told LIRR trestles at NY‑24 and Merritts Road are being rehabilitated with an expected completion by the end of August 2023. The building department also reported an Eastern Parkway house with a derelict garage is before the court; a roof‑repair permit was issued and later revised to increase the garage size. An application for an office building at 250 Conklin Street was received and is currently on hold after its hearing.
The Board directed scheduling a July hearing for a proposed ice cream parlor at Palmer’s shopping center that is seeking a Special Use Permit for 24 seats and heard that Tom Reddy is organizing new rental inspections and inspections of public‑assembly locations to comply with a recently enacted local rental law. No formal votes on permits or approvals were recorded in the work‑session minutes.
