Benton County board confirms collections office hires, approves EMS claims and several sheriff’s personnel changes

The board approved Resolution #26‑45 to make Robbins’ promotion permanent and set salaries: Robbins as Collections Manager at $60,000 annually effective June 2, 2026; Schlarbaum as Collections Officer at $45,900 with an official start date of June 22, 2026; and paralegals Allaina Bennet Casali and Angela Becker at $46,900 effective July 1, 2026. The resolution also provides that Schlarbaum’s salary will increase to match other paralegals upon achieving the paralegal title.
The board approved EMS Trust Fund claims numbered 257550 through 257555, totaling $45,444.85. Payments included $20,000 to North Benton Ambulance for payroll support and $13,782.44 to Belle Plaine Area Ambulance for reimbursements. Supervisors Ronald J. Tippett, Tracy Seeman and Bruce Volz voted aye on the claims.
On personnel matters in the Sheriff’s Office, the board approved Resolution #26‑46 acknowledging the statutory maximum age for full‑time peace officers under Iowa Code §321.477(5) and converting Richard Stallman from full‑time peace officer status to part‑time Utility Deputy effective June 12, 2026, at an hourly rate of $29.17. The board also approved Resolution #26‑47 promoting Deputy Richard Dvorsky to Detective in the Patrol Division, effective June 3, 2026. Separately, the board acknowledged the employment separation of Jasira Prasasouk, effective May 31, 2026. All motions noted were approved with Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye.
