The Plainfield Stormwater Board voted Feb. 23 to adopt Resolution No. 2026-01 SW, amending the schedule of rates and charges for the town's stormwater services.
President Dan Bridget called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance before Town Clerk Mark J. Todisco confirmed a quorum. The board opened a public hearing on the proposed rate-schedule amendment and solicited comment; no members of the public spoke and Bridget closed the hearing.
During the reading of the resolution, a meeting participant, Mr. Daniel, pointed out an apparent error in the ordinance citation, saying, “I think there's an error there. That should be 2026, ordinance 20-2026.” Mr. Thorne, a staff member, responded: “That's the original establishing ordinance, and we haven't changed it since 2006. So that's what's referencing, we're amending that ordinance.” Mr. Daniel then said, “You are correct. I apologize for nearly misleading the board.” Bridget said the clarification was appreciated.
Following that exchange, Mr. Polson moved to approve Resolution No. 2026-01 SW; Mr. Kelley seconded. Clerk Todisco called the roll: Bridget, Polson and Kelley each voted aye and the resolution was approved and adopted. The board also approved the minutes from its Feb. 12, 2026 meeting by unanimous voice vote. With no further comments, Mr. Kelley moved to adjourn, Mr. Polson seconded, and the meeting was adjourned.
The resolution amends the schedule of rates and charges collected by the Town of Plainfield from property owners served by the stormwater system. The board held a public hearing before voting and recorded no public testimony. The meeting record lists the meeting time as 11:30 a.m. but President Bridget announced the meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m.; the transcript contains both times.
