The Long Grove Village Board approved the appointment of Jason Shadowski to the Conservancy and Scenic Corridor Committee after a brief introduction by the nominee.
Shadowski said he and his wife moved to the village about eight months ago and described his interest in gardening and local engagement. "My wife and I and two daughters, we moved just eight months ago. We absolutely love it... we're both doctors... we're avid gardeners... I'm working on a master gardener program right now through the local extension program," Shadowski told the board.
Trustees noted that Jeff Burke had interviewed Shadowski and several trustees voiced support. Trustee Harris moved to approve the appointment; Trustee O'Conor seconded. The board approved the appointment by voice vote and welcomed Shadowski.
The appointment fills a vacancy on the Conservancy and Scenic Corridor Committee; staff noted that a complete candidate profile was not included in board packets and that Shadowski will be formally added after the usual onboarding steps.
