The Oak Hill United School Corp. school board moved to adopt an additional appropriation and the related final bond resolution to take out $1.22 million in general obligation bonds to pay for building repairs, paving, HVAC improvements (separate from the district's larger HVAC project), buses, equipment and technology.
Dr., who presented the request during the additional appropriation hearing, said the $1.22 million is part of a previously authorized $10 million unified project and would allow the district to address recurring operational capital needs without drawing on appropriated tax dollars. "This is part of that. . . we would use it for repairs, paving, HVAC stuff . . . purchase of buses, equipment and technology," Dr. said.
The final bond resolution presented to the board sets the amount to be borrowed, the maximum repayment term and the maximum interest rate, and contains details about the bond form and how the new debt fits into the district's overall debt profile. The administration emphasized the district seeks to maintain roughly a $3.5 million annual debt level; presenters reviewed prior series (a 2025 first-mortgage note, 2024 general obligation bonds, a solar lease and a 2013 mortgage series) to show how the new borrowing would be scheduled.
Board members made the motion to adopt the additional appropriation resolution and to approve the final bond resolution; a motion to adjourn the appropriation hearing and call the regular meeting followed. The transcript records the motions and the board asking "all those in favor" but does not include a roll-call tally of individual votes in the record.
Next steps: the board's resolution authorizes the appropriation of bond proceeds so the district may begin using those funds on the listed projects once bonds are issued and proceeds are available.
