At its June 10 meeting the Southampton School Committee completed its annual reorganization: Jen Johnson was nominated and approved as chair; Dylan Moffley was elected vice chair; and Ashley Stone was confirmed as clerk. Members also filled liaison roles for Hampshire regional committees, the Collaborative for Educational Services (CES) and PTO representation.
New members—Michelle D. Rocher, Ashley Stone and Kate Stafice—introduced themselves and summarized backgrounds that include more than two decades in public education, PTO leadership, and public-health experience. Committee members then nominated and voted on officer roles and committee assignments. Several assignments were decided by voice vote; the chair was authorized to sign routine documents when needed.
Why it matters: The reorganization determines who will serve as the committee’s point people for regional governance, superintendent evaluation (ADC), and standing committees during the coming year.
