CDC says Villa Laons affordable housing is over 60% complete; subcontractor lien cleared, draws expected

Jenkins told commissioners the project is more than 60% complete, crews have met pre‑sale goals and the CDC expects a final construction draw to be released after the lender receives a final construction report and title update. Jenkins said a subcontractor who had not been paid placed a lien on the project; that matter has been addressed and payment flowed after board members pressed for resolution.
Commissioner Miller Anderson said a subcontractor had been waiting since March for payment; Jenkins said communication with the lender, contractor and counsel had been ongoing, and the draw and title update should clear the remaining issues. The board requested CDC provide project financial reports and the monthly construction status package; Jenkins agreed to provide a packet to commissioners.
The CDC also announced a home‑buyers fair on Saturday, June 13, and said Rose Trolley service would provide transport to the site for potential buyers.
Next steps: CDC to deliver the requested financial and project reports to commissioners and continue to coordinate with the lender to finalize draws and lien releases.
