Commission approves no-cost amendment to Cherry Street sidewalk contract with American Sand

City staff asked the commission to approve a no-cost amendment to contract CM2024-01 with American Sand for the Cherry Street sidewalk construction project to update federal wage-determination language.
“The original contract with American Sand . . . this is funded by some funds are coming from the state. You have to include what's called a wage determination sheet. These things change often and for this particular one it had changed and they just didn't change it in the original contract,” the city manager explained.
Staff said the change is administrative (an updated exhibit) and does not alter the contract price. The commission moved, seconded and approved the amendment by voice vote.
What this means: The update brings contract documents into compliance with current federal wage provisions required by the funding source; it does not change the scope or dollar amount of the Cherry Street contract.
Next steps: Staff will file the updated contract exhibit and the contractor will proceed under the existing contract terms.
