The Sarpy County Board of Commissioners approved a fiscal-year 2027 task order with HDR Engineering on June 9 for on-call engineering support and solid-waste services at the Cedar Island Road and Fairview Road landfills, not to exceed $149,811.
Kevin Ballentine, project manager, told commissioners HDR provides professional engineering assistance for compliance inspections, permitting, post-closure requirements, annual site inspections, groundwater monitoring and coordination with third-party vendors (including landfill gas collection and transfer station operators). Ballentine said the task order is consistent with prior annual practice and is drawn from an existing master agreement approved about 13 years ago; this action is a task order off that master agreement rather than an update to the master agreement itself.
Ballentine said the task order is budgeted and will be paid from the landfill fund. Commissioners moved to approve the task order and the motion passed on the record; the transcript records 'Motion passed' but does not show a roll-call tally.
