The board's Finance Committee reported on June 3 that it had approved staffing changes and reviewed health-insurance cost pressures that may affect the district budget. The committee recommended splitting high-school class-advisor duties to add a ninth/10th-grade advisor and approved adding a color guard instructor and marching-band co-director to the co-curricular schedule.
Committee members said they received staff loss quotes at the end of May and that those quotes indicate a minimum health-insurance premium increase of about 15% for the 2027-28 school year. Based on committee feedback, staff are considering changes to the district's OPEB language. The preliminary 2026-27 budget was reviewed by the committee and is scheduled for consideration by the full board on June 22.
Committee discussion also included a childcare campus parking/drop-off proposal to improve safety and efficiency; the committee approved bills and scheduled its next meeting for July 8.
