Wetlands Agent Alyssa Barroso told the commission the proposal would not disturb wetlands but includes about 0.18 acres of disturbance within the upland review area and places work within 100 feet of Bolton Lake. Chair Ross Lally and members focused discussion on the steep slope to the waterline and the need for robust erosion controls.
Lally suggested physical measures to limit silt movement, including adding a fence in the water to catch silt. Barroso recommended using waddles anchored with crushed stone; Member Michael McDonnell urged extending the silt fence along the neighboring property and asked that the extension be included in the plans.
Because the commission stated the 60‑day action date had not yet been met, it could not act on the application. Member James Loersch moved to table IW‑25‑7 (61 Vernon Rd); Michael McDonnell seconded and the motion carried unanimously 4:0:0. The commission scheduled a special meeting for 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, to consider the application further.
The tabling preserves the commission's ability to review revised plans addressing slope stabilization, extended silt fencing and other erosion controls before any decision.
