The lead/copper replacement option discussed during a video conference with the state water board would have been expensive, and members said they preferred to wait unless testing or evidence showed a local need.
The town set a pre-bid meeting for June 16 with engineers and contractors, and anticipated closing bids around July 1 with public opening soon after. Officials said contractors could expect late‑July or August starts depending on lead times. Contract durations discussed included 210 days for substantial completion and 240 days for final completion, subject to weather and supply availability. The board also covered technical details such as well-site markings, tank material tradeoffs (steel vs. concrete) and the need to verify survey stakes where ribbons and wooden stakes were reported missing.
No formal procurement award occurred at the meeting; the board directed staff to verify survey marks and continue with the bidding timeline. PFAS and consumer‑confidence submissions were reported as complete.
