Waxhaw approves Union County Library book drop at new learning center
Summary

The Waxhaw Board on June 9 approved an agreement with the Union County Library to place a book drop/pickup unit at the town’s soon-to-open learning center.
Parks & Recreation Deputy Director Dana Sabinsky said the library association donated the unit and will cover first-year upkeep; the town is responsible for installation, ongoing maintenance and insurance. Sabinsky said the unit will improve access in the southern part of town where the library previously served residents and that installation is planned for fall 2026.
Why it matters: The unit restores a nearby point of library access for residents following the library’s relocation and complements other outreach such as the county bookmobile.
