The Bolingbrook BCT Commission on May 11 was briefed on an update to ADA Title II compliance that extends a compliance deadline to April 26, 2027, and affirmed ongoing closed-captioning for its broadcasts.
Village staff member David Tomsky told commissioners that BCT will continue to broadcast all Village Board and Plan Commission meetings live with closed captions and that caption compliance will be verified for playback. He said existing programming will be captioned subject to administration review.
The announcement frames accessibility steps the station will take in response to the compliance update, including prospective captioning of archived programming. The commission did not record a formal vote on additional budget or staffing changes tied to captioning during the meeting.
The commission’s next regular meeting is scheduled for June 8, 2026; commissioners and staff will oversee implementation steps and caption verification as required by the updated schedule.
