During the regular portion of the meeting the Kyrene Elementary School District governing board handled several procedural items and routine votes.
The board voted 3-0 to consider a parent's appeal of a teacher's decision to promote a student to the next grade. Shortly after, the board moved into executive session and later voted to adjourn that session; both motions passed 3-0. The consent agenda was approved by voice vote, and the board removed three procurement items (8.1, 8.2 and 8.3) from consent for presentation and then approved the designation of sole-source providers and the renewal of multi-term procurement contracts for the 2026'27 fiscal year, also by recorded voice votes of 3-0.
Recorded roll call showed three board members present: Kevin Walsh, Cedric Collins and Terrina Nelson. No public commenters were registered for this meeting.
Next steps: the board will reconvene for its next regular meeting on June 23, 2026; staff will provide any necessary packet updates related to actions taken in executive session as allowed by law.
