Beaufort County’s Planning Department is holding informal, drop‑in meetings to gather public priorities on the county’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan.
The South of the Broad River meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 11, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. at the Bluffton Branch Library (120 Pometto Way). The North of the Broad River meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 18, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. in the county council chambers at 100 Rebo Road in Bluffton. Both sessions are informal so residents may drop in at their convenience, the county said.
According to a county press release, “Beaufort County has created a vision and regulatory tools it needs to balance economic development, resource protection, and growth in a form that creates quality places. With the comprehensive plan, greenprint plan, [form- or transaction‑based] zoning, cultural overlays, and various small area and corridor plans, it has a healthy toolbox from which to guide the growth of its built environment.” (Quoted language is from the county press release.)
