The Montville Township Committee on May 26 adopted Resolution 2026-223 approving Change Order #1 for the Barney Lane & Forest Place Storm Drain Improvements project, increasing the contract with D.S. Meyer by $38,200 to a new total of $493,831.50.
The change was prompted by a discrepancy discovered between bid-phase documents and purchase-order documents for the unit price of a catch-basin inlet frame & grate. The per-unit price listed for issuance of the purchase order had been $900; the correct price was identified as $4,730 per unit. The Township Engineer recommended the change by memorandum dated May 20, 2026, and the resolution states the adjustment does not exceed the 20 percent threshold under N.J.A.C. §5:30-11.3. The resolution names account 6-01-44-903-204 as the funding source for the change order.
Motion to adopt the change order was made by Committeeman Chris Fano and seconded by Deputy Mayor Matthew S. Kayne; the roll call vote was unanimous. The resolution takes effect immediately.
The minutes record the contract amounts: original contract $455,531.50; Change Order #1 $38,200.00; new contract total $493,831.50 (8.4% increase).
