Council unanimously approves Antonian High School scoreboard and press box upgrade

The Castle Hills City Council on June 9 unanimously approved a specific-use permit for Antonian High School to replace the football field scoreboard with an LED model and to replace the press box at 6425 West Avenue.
City Manager Christopher Duke told the council the zoning commission met on April 7 and unanimously recommended approval, the council had approved the application in April, and the Architectural Review Committee also unanimously recommended the request. "Staff recommends approval of Antonian High School's request to replace the scoreboard and press box," Duke said.
Councilmember Danes, who attended the Architectural Review Committee meeting, told the council she saw no objections from nearby Foxh Hall residents and that the revisions appeared to work for both neighbors and the school. "There were not any Foxh Hall residents that came to the meeting. So therefore I feel fairly confident that they are satisfied," she said.
With a motion by Councilmember May and a second by Councilmember Smith, the council voted unanimously to adopt the permit. No public comments were recorded during the hearing.
The permit covers the physical replacement of the scoreboard and press box at the property legally described in the agenda; staff said the project complies with existing zoning procedures and design-review recommendations. The council did not attach special conditions beyond the usual building permits and approvals.
The council moved on to the remainder of the evening's business after the vote.
