Kershaw County honors local nonprofit, small business and longtime public servant

Council adopted a proclamation for the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families, noting the center's statewide reach and local services; staff and local case managers described programs that served thousands of fathers and their families. Trayvon Armstrong, a local case manager, said the program helps fathers gain employment and support their children.
The council also adopted a proclamation honoring Elgen Pharmacy’s 40th anniversary, citing its local, community‑based pharmacy services and declaring June 20, 2026 as Elgen Pharmacy Day. Councilmembers praised the business as a long‑standing local employer and patient resource.
Separately, council approved a resolution recognizing the life and public service of Beverly Jean 'Jeannie' Potter, describing her decades of service in county roles and at the South Carolina House of Representatives; family members and colleagues attended and shared remarks.
All proclamations and the resolution were approved by unanimous votes among those present.
