County OKs temporary concrete‑crushing operation with annual review and no weekend work

Harry Wilson of FC and E Engineering, representing Turkey Ridge, described a temporary concrete‑crushing operation that he said would run intermittently — likely three or four times a year for short periods — to reduce stockpiled concrete into reusable material.
"I think this first round we'd be there a week, maybe two weeks, and we would operate during normal business hours," Wilson said, adding that noise at 200–300 feet would be comparable to highway driving.
Board members pressed for conditions. Commissioners discussed common practice for similar permits, including annual review and limiting hours and weekend operations. The motion was amended to require annual renewal/review and to prohibit Saturday and Sunday work; the board approved the amended motion by voice vote.
Wilson asked about the review path and was told annual renewals typically return to the board for approval.
The approval allows the operator to use rented or contracted crushing equipment on a temporary basis under the board‑imposed conditions.
