The board accepted the retirement letter from Jackie Haggman, a kindergarten teacher who notified the district she will retire after 51 years of service. Superintendent read Haggman's letter and the board offered thanks for her long service.
Also in personnel business, the board approved hiring Kylie Foster as a full-time fifth-grade teacher and recommended hiring Tara Pitch (spelled phonetically in the packet) as a culinary-arts instructor with dual-credit experience. The personnel report was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Separately, the board approved an updated contract and compensation package for Officer Paige, who serves as the district's school resource officer. The superintendent recommended a 3% pay increase to $74,160 and additional stipends for event coverage, cell-phone/public-safety duties, department leadership and specialty areas. The package also includes support for Officer Paige to attend LETA leadership training (a multi-module program referenced in the packet). The contract and compensation update passed by voice vote.
Board members expressed appreciation for retiring staff and noted the Tri County Education Foundation's support for certification programs that help students obtain credentials.
No individual board roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript beyond voice approvals recorded as "passes 6-0."
