Marshall County recognizes contractor who restored vandalized Miracle League field

Marshall County Fiscal Court recognized a local contractor on June 9 for restoring a baseball field at Mike Miller Park that was vandalized in February.
Mr. Pagel told the court that vandals damaged a soldier statue in Veterans Plaza and also skidded all-terrain-vehicle tires across the Miracle League of Western Kentucky's field, dug out an entrance and left black tire marks on the field's artwork. He said the county initially priced cleanup work and selected Premier Disaster Restoration and Cleaning.
"They were not only going to clean the affected areas, but the entire field and entry at no charge to the county," Mr. Pagel said. He praised owner Steven Alexander for volunteering to do the work and described how the contractor "restored the entire field an inch at a time." The court read a formal recognition naming Premier Disaster Restoration and Cleaning for its work.
The court played photos and video of the restoration, and the audience applauded when the company was invited forward for recognition. Officials said the restoration prepared the field for the start of the baseball season.
The recognition was phrased as gratitude from the Marshall County Fiscal Court and local Miracle League athletes; no payment to the contractor was reported on the record.
