Leacock Planning Commission approves officer appointments and notes county growth‑boundary referral

At the Jan. 27 meeting the Leacock Township Planning Commission completed its 2026 reorganization and approved minutes from Nov. 25, 2025.
Mr. Carl Kosko moved to appoint Greg Hurst as Chairman, Roman Thomas as Vice Chairman, Tim Stoltzfus as secretary, and Joseph Kennedy as a Planning Commission staff member; Mr. Stoltzfus seconded the motion and it carried by unanimous consent. The Commission then approved the Nov. 25, 2025 minutes on a motion from Mr. Hurst, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus, also approved unanimously.
During public comment staff noted recent discussion at the Board of Supervisors concerning a proposed growth boundary. Township Manager Christopher Slaymaker told the Commission that several non‑Leacock residents had voiced concerns at the Supervisors meeting but that subsequent conversations between the Board and affected property owners had revealed "little to no adversity." Mr. Hurst said it appeared outside agencies had "created a narrative" before the Township published updated information. Slaymaker said the Board of Supervisors intends to place the growth‑boundary topic on its Feb. 16 agenda.
