Board questions whether IPM plan must be 'adopted'; asks staff to locate past plan

During review of Policy 716 (integrated pest management/IPM), committee members sought clarity on whether the district has a formally adopted IPM plan and whether that plan must be posted online.
Elizabeth said she could not recall the board ever adopting an IPM plan during her seven-plus years on the board and recommended that, if the board has adopted a plan, the administration should post it on the district website or at least provide a clear point of contact (property services) to reduce repetitive public requests about pesticide use and hazard information. Other members replied that material safety data sheets and hazard records must be maintained in each building and centrally at property services and that posting every item could create substantial administrative overhead.
The committee directed Dr. Redmond's team to research whether the district previously adopted an IPM plan, to locate it if it exists, and to check statutory or PSBA guidance on whether board adoption or public posting is required. The committee agreed to return to the item after staff and the solicitor clarify the legal obligations and where records should be stored for public access.
The policy draft will be held pending staff findings and any solicitor guidance.
