Public Works Director Chris Phillips presented the resolution and explained the surplus list covers vehicles and equipment from multiple departments, including police, solid waste, parks, wastewater, surface water and streets. Staff recommended auction or scrap disposition, with proceeds returning to the city's Equipment Replacement and Repair (ER&R) fund for future purchases. Phillips told council the average age of the vehicles on the list is about 21 years.
Council moved the resolution (mover identified as Councilmember Andrew; second by Councilmember Navora) and approved it by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript. Phillips said proceeds will be returned to the ER&R fund and staff will later propose how to repurpose those funds in future budget decisions.
