Three Utica firefighters sworn in and promoted during council meeting

Family members performed the pinning for Ferrell and Ryan during the ceremony.
Chief Plant praised the promoted officers, saying the three had been “very critical” to department operations since his appointment earlier in the year and that the promotions were “very well‑deserved.” Council and attendees applauded the honorees.
What’s next: The promotions take effect immediately as sworn roles in the Utica Fire Department; the chief said the officers had taken on extra responsibilities that made his job easier and thanked their families for support.
