Supervisors' reports, an Eagle Scout funding request and new county website highlighted at board meeting

Supervisor Mike Scanley praised code enforcement and interim public works staff, said he planned to donate $500 to Susanville FFA and $250 to support an Eagle Scout bench and flag‑pole project at Diamond Crest Cemetery, and noted local outreach and broadband updates. Several other supervisors reported on community meetings, town halls and congratulations for local service awards.
During public comment, Elijah Tuttle, an Eagle Scout candidate from Boy Scout Troop 159, requested county assistance for an Eagle Scout project that would replace and add benches, modify a flag pole and install 25 new veteran coffin flags at Diamond Crest Cemetery. He estimated project costs at about $3,000 and said he expected to complete the work by August.
Deputy County Administrative Officer Sam Smith announced the county’s new website, lassencounty.gov, which staff said improves ADA accessibility, searchable calendar and press‑release access. Staff acknowledged early rollout issues and said they are fixing streaming and page problems as departments finalize content.
What’s next: Supervisors will follow up on discretionary allocations through the clerk’s office and county IT will continue stabilizing the new website.
