Board names new elementary school 'Evergreen Trail Blazers' after community selection process

The Enumclaw School District board voted on May 18 to name the district's new elementary school 'Evergreen Trail Blazers' after a committee process that collected more than 250 name suggestions and vetted finalists.
Director Fisher moved the naming of Elementary School No. 6 and the Evergreen Trail Blazers mascot; Director Stouffer seconded the motion. Board members thanked Mr. Beals and the naming committee for community outreach and the analytic process that narrowed the list to three finalists. The chair called the vote and the motion passed on a voice vote with no recorded opposition.
Board remarks acknowledged the breadth of community participation and said the final recommendation reflected committee analysis and community feedback. The district will proceed with branding and signage consistent with board direction.
