County staff summarized proposed open‑space subdivision amendments on June 1 that revise Article 11 of the Land Development Regulations (LDR) and Articles 7.1 and 7.2 of the zoning ordinance. The changes follow a recent joint workshop and are intended to clarify cluster/ open‑space development rules and address questions raised during the moratorium and revision process.
Committee members confirmed the zoning text amendments will proceed through the usual public‑hearing process and the LDR amendments will go to first reading; one member asked that the Planning Commission be involved and that public input be clearly solicited. The committee approved a motion to advance the package for council consideration and asked staff to continue working with Planning Commission staff on outstanding technical questions before full council review.
Staff said the LDR portion and the zoning amendment portions will follow their respective legislative tracks (first reading and public hearings) so the public will have opportunities to comment.
