Facilities staff told the board that classroom renovations across the high school's eastern section are progressing on schedule with Menders Construction. The board approved multiple facilities actions, including a flooring change order and a laundry ventilation and dryer replacement project.
For parts of the cafeteria renovation staff recommended replacing the originally specified epoxy flooring with an alternative (LVT-type) surface. The board approved the change order at a cost of $19,132 for tiled areas.
Separately, the board reviewed two vendor quotes for replacing a dryer that was rendered unusable after a ventilation-related fire and for installing an industrial fan and clean-out to control lint and reduce fire risk. Staff recommended the lower-priced bid that meets the district's needs; the total project cost was announced as $29,670 and approved by the board.
Board members discussed scope and installation logistics during the presentation. Both motions were approved by voice vote.
