The North Spencer County School Corporation board accepted multiple staff resignations and approved several new appointments during the first regular meeting of June 2026.
Staff presented a list of resignations that included a behavior technician and classroom teachers at multiple schools, instructional assistants and a custodian. The presenter noted that several names on the list are students who completed required coursework and will not return as employees next year.
The board approved appointments to fill vacancies: Dana Sanders to an elementary teaching position at Christy Elementary, Claire Hinchum to fill a Jade Herman vacancy, and Leslie Henderson for a part-time instructional assistant role covering lower-level media technology and PE. The board also approved converting a position previously funded through a special education cooperative into a North Spencer employee and hiring Heather Palmer into the district role as a behavior consultant.
Board members recorded the transfer of Nikki Piston from Lincoln Trail to Heritage Hills High School as a notification item; no vote was required for that personnel transfer.
All personnel motions were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
