At its June 11 meeting, the Cannon County Board of Education voted to cancel the June 15 study session and reschedule community input to the July 13 study session. Members agreed surveys would be sent out after the June 29 finance presentation to solicit public input on elementary and middle school plans.
The motion to remove the June 15 meeting and to send surveys after the June 29 session was made by Mister Mullins and seconded by Missus Odom; the roll call showed unanimous approval. Chair said the July community input would be placed on the July agenda for further discussion about format and flow.
The board also set a special called meeting for Thursday, June 18, at 5:30 p.m. in the boardroom to consider budget amendments and policy changes; that motion passed unanimously.
On the consent agenda, the board approved the minutes of the May 14 regular meeting and approved one overnight out-of-state trip: Cannon County Middle School will attend the Beta Nationals in Nashville, Tennessee, June 23–27, 2026. The clerk recorded the trip as "Trip number 5102, CCMS to the Beta Nationals."
