The Fishers Advisory Committee is organizing an Inclusion Day for the Fishers Farmers Market on Saturday, July 11, to showcase accessible vendors, community supports and entertainment tailored to participants with disabilities.
Darcy Keith and other committee members said the event currently has about a dozen confirmed participants and the group hopes to expand to roughly 24 vendor slots. The committee is accepting vendor applications from both small businesses and informational groups (including disability service organizations) and is arranging four performer slots, two of which were confirmed.
The committee plans first-come-first-served vendor placement at the market with exceptions made for vendor needs that require proximity to advisory‑table interpreters. Volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts between 8 a.m. and noon; the committee requested member help with promotion and photography so the event can be posted on the committee Facebook page.
Logistics highlighted: vendor signups are being tracked; volunteer shifts are 8–10 a.m. and 10–12 a.m.; performers and interpreter placement will be coordinated; vendors will receive a map and staff will assist with accessibility pouches and supplies.
Next steps: organizers will send another vendor email reminder, recruit volunteers for shifts on July 11, and finalize performer slots and site map.
