Superior school board adopts consolidated meeting policy, new virtual-participation rule and Title I family-engagement policy

The board approved second readings of policy 0165.1, which combines prior meeting-language into a single comprehensive policy for regular meetings, and repurposed policy number 0164.1 to establish a new virtual-participation policy for board meetings. Trustees also approved policy 2261.01, which outlines parent and family engagement requirements for Title I programs and emphasizes meaningful consultation and involvement.
Board members discussed using future meetings to spotlight parent advisory groups and requested that principals or family-engagement coordinators present examples of parent engagement work. One trustee suggested adding a principal presentation template to future agendas so the board can learn how each building engages families.
All three policies were moved, seconded and approved; the board then accepted the Policies and Rules Committee report.
