Independent auditors issue clean FY2025 opinion for Nelson County

He also reported no significant deficiencies or material weaknesses in internal control.
Because the county and the school board spent more than $750,000 in federal funds, the auditors included a federal single audit. Robinson Farmer Cox audited two major programs—the education stabilization fund and the child nutrition cluster—and reported no instances of noncompliance in those programs.
Board members asked whether any lesser control items existed; Lupton directed those detailed questions to the firm's primary partner, David Foley, for follow-up.
The audit presentation concluded without recommended corrective actions categorized as significant; the board thanked the auditors and moved to the next agenda item.
