Jackson County commissioners approve OHA intergovernmental agreement and Freightliner repair order

The Jackson County Board of Commissioners approved two orders and the Consent Calendar at a regular meeting on May 20, 2026, meeting in the Courthouse Auditorium and by audio/video conference.
Commissioner Rick Dyer, chair, opened the meeting at 9:30 a.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance. After a five-minute public-comment period produced no speakers, the board approved the Consent Calendar, including minutes from April meetings. Commissioner Randy Sparacino moved to approve the Consent Calendar; Commissioner Colleen Roberts seconded. The motion passed with aye votes from Commissioners Sparacino, Roberts, and Dyer.
Under the meeting’s discussion items, Commissioner Dyer read Order No. 120-26 by title. County Administrator Danny Jordan explained that Oregon Revised Statute 278.315 allows the Oregon Health Authority to provide Jackson County with tort liability coverage for the supervision, care, treatment, or training of persons under the jurisdiction of the Psychiatric Security Review Board, and that that coverage is self-insured by the State to limits set by ORS 30.260–30.300. Commissioner Colleen Roberts moved to approve Order No. 120-26; Commissioner Randy Sparacino seconded. The motion passed with aye votes from Commissioners Roberts, Sparacino, and Dyer.
Commissioner Dyer then read Order No. 121-26 by title. Jordan told the board that the Roads and Parks Department requires repairs to dump truck Unit No. 867-20 after fire damage in March 2026 and that the county is issuing Purchase Order No. 87205 to Freightliner Northwest for those repairs. Commissioner Randy Sparacino moved to approve Order No. 121-26; Commissioner Colleen Roberts seconded. The motion passed with aye votes from Commissioners Sparacino, Roberts, and Dyer.
Chair Dyer adjourned the meeting at 9:34 a.m. The meeting minutes were signed and later approved on June 10, 2026. No public hearings were scheduled for this session.
