The Oxford Area School District Policy Committee reviewed proposed changes to three student‑related policies on June 9 and indicated the updates appear to align with recent state law changes.
Policy 5100, which defines residency and outlines acceptable proof and verification procedures for student enrollment, was updated to reflect changes in Pennsylvania school code enacted in 2026; committee members raised no significant objections and staff noted the policy clarifies procedures for verifying residency and consequences for fraudulent enrollment.
Policy 5110, governing nonresident student attendance, was revised to specify conditions for nonresident enrollment, tuition expectations and special enrollment circumstances; staff explained that the Commonwealth’s mandated form for certain nonresident arrangements (referenced as subsection 13302/1302) will be used when applicable. The committee again raised no substantial concerns.
Policy 5605 (communicable diseases and immunizations) was reviewed with the school physician and the committee indicated the existing language complies with state requirements covering provisional enrollment and allowable medical or religious exemptions.
Committee members framed these reviews as informational at this meeting; changes will be reflected in upcoming board reporting and placed on the appropriate board agenda for formal action if required.
